The Business Continuity Coordinator is responsible for executing and maintaining Business Continuity plans, tools, policies, and framework. This role will coordinate with various functions and partners to develop, maintain, and improve Business Continuity Plans and procedures. Which includes developing business resilience related training, such as Business Continuity Response Team training, and tabletop exercises. Additionally, the incumbent will support alignment with Enterprise Risk Management, conduct internal resiliency reviews, work with incident managers, crisis managers, disaster recovery partners to ensure accuracy of tech and other dependencies, and support recovery activities as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering annual training to educate Associates about business continuity principles, their roles during disruptions, and response protocols.
  • Promote awareness and empower Associates to contribute effectively to the organization's resilience.
  • Organize and execute regular business continuity exercises and simulations to validate the effectiveness of response strategies.
  • Coordinate drills that simulate various crisis and recovery scenarios to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Plan and conduct business plan simulation exercises to assess adequacy of existing plans and recovery strategies.
  • Prepare exercise results documentation and ensure plans are updated.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analysis and updated strategies as needed.
  • Deliver workshops with key resilience stakeholders across the enterprise to draft and maintain business continuity plans and refine business continuity processes and solutions.
  • Assist in the development of resilience training, tests, and exercises.
  • Assist the team in driving identification and remediation of gaps in resilience.
  • Proactively identify and implement innovative solutions to reduce resilience risk. Identifies and incorporates changes in regulatory requirements, the Bank's risk framework and applicable policies.
  • Actively emphasize corporate-level response and recovery, operational risk and Governance and Regulatory program components.
  • Support procurement and third-party risk management programs by providing and reviewing business continuity and disaster recovery contract requirements and performing due diligence reviews for third party engagements that support the delivery of the organization’s products and services. 
  • Maintain the third party service due diligence risk program.
  • Participate in oversight of joint testing.
  •  Mentor less experienced teammates in understanding TPRM program requirements and how to evaluate third parties' documentation for compliance with our requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Ensure exercise, due diligence and compliance issues are reported upon in accordance with Business Continuity Policy (BCP), policy and Risk Framework requirements, including statements of residual risks and risk-accepted findings.
  • Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Manage changes and customizations to software and tools that support planning, notification and incident awareness.
  • Create new reports in support of program initiatives and changes in program requirements.
  • Assist in management of service providers.
  • Update SOPs annually and throughout the year as necessary when changes occur.
  • Identify and document recovery strategies, develop and document framework for contingency planning in accordance with controls established in NIST regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or domain-related industry-recognized certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ of relevant experience creating BIAs (business impact analysis) and BCPs (Business Continuity Plans).
  • Must have functional knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27031 & ISO 22301, COBIT, and ITIL.
  • Must have third party contracts and assessment review experience
  • Must have the ability to multitask
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications, especially Excel (SQL, etc. is a plus).
  • Must have Operational, business analytics and systems development experience.
  • Must have experience in leading and actively participate in recovery walkthroughs
  • Must have experience working in a team environment, leading teams to complete tasks in support of an initiative as well as work with a great degree of autonomy.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must have technical expertise, especially related to backups, storage and disaster recovery.
  • Must have the ability to assert ideas and gain support and commitment from others.
  • Must have a good understanding of business continuity planning strategies in remote and dynamic global environments, including crisis management.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques, technologies and best practices, methods used in performing risk analysis and business impact analyses.
  • Must have the Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Must have clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel 10% of the time.
