The C&I Portfolio Manager will manage a portfolio of existing commercial banking customer relationships as assigned by the C&I team leader or department manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Team Manager or Department Manager to support the credit administration needs of that Manager’s customer portfolio.
- Interview customers to gather information concerning their business, financial condition, and operating performance to evaluate financing needs.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient underwriting of commercial loans in alignment with the Bank’s risk tolerance.
- Join prospect/customer calls with the lending team.
- Complexity of the customer relationships managed, any credit authority extended, and the designation of the Portfolio Manager is determined by the candidate’s work experience and training.
- Assist RM with analyzing and underwriting new loan requests in an actively growing C&I portfolio.
- Responsible for ensuring that all risks (including Underwriting Guideline Variances and Policy Exceptions) are clearly identified and mitigated.
- Work with RM, Lead PM and Credit Officer in obtaining loan approvals in a timely manner.
- Attend client meetings as appropriate.
- Perform annual reviews and covenant tests in a timely manner and ensure that nCino system is updated.
- Prepare Problem Loan Review reports as needed.
- Assist other PM's with workflow as time allows.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field, or equivalent experience in retail and commercial banking divisions.
- Must have at least 4-5 years of relevant banking experience.
- Must have strong knowledge of commercial and consumer loan and deposit products.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have the ability to thoroughly interpret financial data and use sound business judgment.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent listening ability and presentation skills.
- Must have excellent attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
