The Director of Financial Projects is responsible for leading and executing strategic financial initiatives across the Finance Division and broader organization. This role involves leading &/or collaborating with cross-functional project teams, implementing &/or enhancing financial systems and processes, and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills to drive innovation and improve financial performance and can operate with high degrees of independence and autonomy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic financial initiatives, including system enhancements &/or implementations, process improvements, and financial integrations.
  • Serve as a consultant and advisor to Finance senior leadership on complex, emerging matters. Lead the response &/or resolution to such matters.
  • Collaborate with Finance senior leadership and their respective teams to identify strategic initiatives which drive innovation and improve strategic, financial and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project management and finance functions to define and develop project objectives, scope, deliverables, resource requirements, KPIs and budget for identified strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and report project performance to Finance senior leadership, ensuring milestones and KPIs are met. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects meet deliverables and budget.
  • Lead key stakeholders in identification and implementation of process improvements &/or streamlining financial workflows; quantify ROI from the improvements and report to Finance senior leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between finance and other departments for project-related matters.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements in financial management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field is required.
  • CPA or CFA certification or an MBA is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional projects, initiatives &/or deliverables.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to present concise oral and written presentations.
  • Must have the ability to build relationships, influence, and drive organizational alignment.
  • Demonstrated strength in understanding overarching company goals, performing strategic assessments, and developing clearly framed choices and recommendations.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Must demonstrate various process-driven approaches to identify solutions and solve problems.
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must have the ability to continually reengineer workflows for effectiveness &/or efficiency.
  • Must have the ability to creatively introduce technology to improve processes and reduce costs.
  • Must embrace change and desire to work in a complex, growing organization whose structure and priorities continue to evolve.

Salary Range:

$130,466.00 - $214,338.50

Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.

In addition to base salary, WSFS Financial Corporation (WSFS) and its subsidiaries may offer eligible Associates discretionary and formula-based incentive and retention awards.
