The Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams to accomplish Line of Business objectives involving the implementation of strategic business applications and tools. The Project Manager will coordinate resources for projects that may include Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts, Systems Administrators, and Technical Engineers while managing to deadlines. The incumbent will work with the Project Owner to develop project plans, identify, and manage risk and issues, and drive project deliverables and objectives
Job responsibilities:
- Manage projects from inception to delivery including the development of project plans and ongoing monitoring to keep projects on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
- Effectively communicate with the business lines both verbally and in writing.
- Effectively communicate with the technical teams; assist in translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Work with business sponsors to quickly learn current business challenges.
- Capture and understand business requirements.
- Communicate status, risks, and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a high degree of time management and organization to drive project deliverables.
- Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation.
- Effectively communicate with vendors including requirements, expectations, dependencies, and results of validation for projects.
- Other duties as defined.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework; PMP certification is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a Project Management role.
- Knowledgeable of project management methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, etc.).
- Prior banking and/or financial services industry experience is preferred.
- A basic understanding of major banking principles, processes, and technologies is preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication as well as good listening skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others through enthusiasm and high energy as well as have the desire to continuously learn new features of development tools and software.
- Experience with project management tools including Microsoft Project is strongly preferred.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must be willing to travel as needed within the WSFS Bank footprint in the Greater Philadelphia region
