The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Governance Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's digital assets by managing user identities and access privileges. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining identity and access management policies, processes, and standards to safeguard sensitive information and systems from unauthorized access or misuse. The incumbent will lead a team of analysts that are responsible for the completion of access related tasks and makes certain any escalations are resolved in a timely and professional manner.  In addition, the incumbent will collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with best practices, regulations, policies, and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage user identities throughout their lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, and offboarding.
  • Develop and maintain processes for user provisioning, de-provisioning, and authentication.
  • Ensure that access related requests are being completed accurately, within SLA and are aligned with established processes.
  • Collaborate with other teams to implement and enforce identity verification procedures to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Create and maintain IAM-related documentation, including user guides, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and technical documentation.
  • Conduct periodic User Access Reviews for in scope applications.
  • Define and enforce authorization policies to control access to resources based on user roles and attributes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to identity and access management.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify adherence to security policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit teams to address any findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Technology teams to identify and mitigate security risks related to identity and access management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of identity and access leadership experience required.
  • Professional certifications related to Identity & Access Management such as Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM), Certified Identity Management.
  • Experience with identity and access management tools, such as Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD and CyberArk, Sailpoint, Saviynt etc.
  • Experience with authentication mechanisms, including multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Experience and understanding of conditional-based access as it applies to EntraID.
  • In-depth knowledge of IAM frameworks, protocols, and standards (e.g., LDAP, OAuth, SAML, RBAC).
  • Prior banking and/or financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Must possess a strong management background to provide leadership and guidance with the Identity and Access Management Program.
  • Experience with establishing standards of performance, continuous improvement, and other practices that assure a strong and efficient IT service capability with user experience focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle situations with clarity, focus, and professionalism. 
  • Must be motivated to respond quickly to emergency and business impacting situations.
  • Proven experience in providing governance and oversight with implementing identity and access management policies and processes in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
