The Capital Markets team continues to expand and is currently seeking a well-seasoned Foreign Exchange Operations Manager that will be responsible for maintaining a stable environment whereby the day-to-day operational functions, reporting, and servicing of our clients is performed efficiently and within the guidelines of the Capital Markets procedures. In addition to, this the FX Operations manager will proactively manage the needs of the front office, liaise with partner departments, and lead, teach, and empower, the FX Operations team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee reconciliations (daily, weekly, monthly) associated with FX Ops general ledger and nostro accounts.
- Manage daily trade production and the life cycle of trades within the portfolio.
- Manage and over see processes that support Bank Notes, foreign check clearing, and foreign draft issuance.
- Oversee all aspects for period end closes including but not limited to P&L, cash balances, GLs, client statements, month-end/quarter-end reporting.
- Proactively manage all international investigations pertaining to Capital Markets transactions while at the same time providing international payment support to departments around the bank.
- Provide high touch customer service to all Capital Markets customers.
- Apply a continuous improvement mentality to FX Operations identifying and implementing new processes that increase the level of efficiency and improve reporting.
- Work closely with both the FX Product and Technology Manager to build out enhancements and resolve bug issues.
- Support the FX policy and procedure review and update process.
- Support or lead project management initiatives.
- Demonstrate difference making leadership for direct reports and Capital Markets Operations team.
- Remain abreast of the latest payment trends and Swift offerings/modules.
- Manage our existing correspondents to stay atop of new offerings and features.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 – 12 years leading dynamic, progressive, yet stable FX Operations departments by example, with consistent results, and demonstrated ability.
- Must be a subject matter expert in terms of navigating, understanding and employing FX systems functionality to maximize controls, efficiency, and straight through processing rates.
- Must be accomplished in leading the department through month-end closes securing; monthly P&L, reconciliations of GL accounts, oversight of customer statements, confirmation of nostro balances, and associated financial reporting.
- Must have experience managing OFAC & Sanction screening processes and have familiarity with Dodd Frank regulations that pertain to FX derivative transactions.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of Swift MT and MX (ISO) messaging required for bank statements, cross border customer payments, bank to bank payments, inquiries, and tracking.
- Must excel in managing projects with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Must have critical thinking skills to solve complex problems creatively and resourcefully.
- Must be self-motivated, committed to excellence, strong attention to detail, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, adept at navigating shifting priorities.
